About SPR

Based in Leamington, Ontario, Souwesto Poetry Review is an online community experience based on sharing our words with one another and with the greater online world. An anthology (published both digitally and in print) is forthcoming in the latter half of June, 2026.

Souwesto Poetry Review acknowledges that the immediate area on which our journal is published (termed Leamington and Essex County) is the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie Peoples, and specifically, the traditional territory of the Caldwell First Nation. We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations and all of the Original Peoples of Turtle Island, to whom we are sincerely grateful for the continued benefits from their millennia-long stewardship of these ancestral lands.
